A plane carrying a further 178 people from seven countries has arrived from Sudan.
The passengers evacuated from Sudan were made up of vulnerable groups placed as top priorities by the UAE which includes the sick, children, the elderly, and women. One of the passengers was a Sudanese child who was injured in ongoing clashes in Sudan and was transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi to receive the necessary medical care.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) confirmed the success of the UAE evacuation operation as part of the country's humanitarian efforts and commitment to strengthening international cooperation and solidarity, and emphasised the continuation of the UAE's humanitarian approach based on protecting civilians and extending a helping hand to countries in times of need.
Since the first two planes arrived on 29 April, the UAE has helped evacuate hundreds of people from around 24 different countries, on 5 separate flights. Those evacuated have been brought to the UAE and given all necessary care services and support before continuing their journey to their home countries.
