RTA Completes Traffic Upgrades Across Six Dubai School Zones Ahead of New Term

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a series of traffic improvement projects across six major school zone locations, benefiting more than 10 schools ahead of the 2026 - 2027 academic year.

The infrastructure enhancements cover Wadi Al Safa 4, Al Barsha, Umm Al Sheif, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, and Al Sufouh. Completed during the summer break to capitalise on lower road volumes, the works aim to reduce morning rush-hour congestion and ensure safer transit for students, parents, and bus operators.

Key works include a new link road connecting Al Qudra Road and Hessa Street via Dubai Motor City and Dubai Studio City, facilitating direct access to GEMS Metropole School, Motor City. In Umm Al Sheif, parking capacity for Horizon International School has been doubled with 100% additional parking spaces added to ease drop-off congestion.

Further upgrades feature redesigned service road access points near the Al Barsha South schools complex, traffic flow solutions around The International School of Choueifat in Al Sufouh, and road upgrades with traffic-calming measures near GEMS Winchester School in Wadi Al Safa 4.

The targeted upgrades allow for reduced travel delays around major educational hubs and safer pedestrian conditions for children.
