Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has distributed daily meals to delivery riders using temporary rest areas across 23 bus and metro stations in the emirate.
Organised in partnership with the UAE Food Bank and Deliveroo, the initiative provides tangible support to delivery workers who keep Dubai's logistics and quick-commerce sectors running throughout the intense summer months. The meal distribution is aligned with the UAE’s mandatory Midday Break initiative, enforced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), which prohibits outdoor work in direct sunlight between 12.30pm and 3pm until 15 September.
The 23 distribution points were selected based on high footfall and usage by delivery riders. Key locations include Gold Souq, Al Satwa, Al Qusais, Al Karama, and Al Jafiliya bus stations, alongside major metro hubs such as Burjuman, DMCC, Al Rashidiya, Al Furjan, Ibn Battuta, and e& stations.
