His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has inaugurated the Al Shindagha Museum.
The largest heritage museum in the UAE was renovated, in an effort to preserve the culture and heritage of the country.
Located at Dubai Creek, the museum offers the perfect retelling of the history of Dubai, and shines a light on the rich culture.
With 22 pavilions that include 80 historic houses, each pavilion has a dedicated theme ranging from people and faith, perfume house, pottery house and more.
The Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed section, which is located within the Al Maktoum Residence, highlights all the archives from the experience of the late His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and his role in the development of Dubai.
Visitors can explore and get a glimpse at what life in Dubai looked like in the 1970s, to the modern city it is today.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said, "Our museums serve as cultural beacons that embody our heritage. We want the world to know Dubai’s story and its history. Dubai has always been a hub for traders and those pursuing a better life, and it will continue to thrive as a centre of global civilisations on both cultural and humanitarian fronts."
The museum is open daily from 10am to 8pm, with entry tickets priced at Dhs 50.
