Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an online platform to get free permits to use e-scooters.
The permit will allow users to ride in the designed streets and the online service will be available to the public from 28 April.
To receive the permit, the applicant will have to pass the awareness training course on the RTA website and should be 16 years and older.
The course will highlight the technical specifications and standards required for e-scooters, areas allowed to ride in and the signs to follow.
Riders that do not have a pass will be fined Dhs 200, apart from riders with a valid driving license or an international driving license or motorcycle license.
