Dubai’s taxis have been busier than ever this year. In the first six months of 2025, the taxi sector recorded 59.5 million trips, a 7% increase from the numbers recorded during the same period last year.
Hala Taxi, a joint venture between RTA and Careem, grew its share of all taxi trips to 41.3%, up from 40.3% in 2024 during the same period. The driver workforce also expanded, with numbers rising from around 13,000 to nearly 14,000.
It’s not just more trips, the service is also faster. According to the RTA, 74% of Hala Taxi journeys had a car arrive in under 3.5 minutes, quicker than last year’s average of four minutes. E-hailing and hourly rental services also saw record growth.
These results reflect a more efficient, reliable taxi network that’s keeping pace with Dubai’s transport needs.
