Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set for one of its busiest travel periods of the year, with over 3.6 million passengers expected until 25 August. The back-to-school rush comes as families wrap up summer holidays and students return to Dubai for the new academic term.
Daily traffic during this period is forecast to average 280,000 passengers, peaking at more than 290,000 on Friday, 15 August.
The surge follows a record-breaking first half of 2025, when DXB handled over 46 million guests, cementing its position as the world’s busiest international airport.
To ensure smooth travel during this period of back-to-school rush, Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines and other partners at DXB to ensure a smooth journey for every passenger.
Dubai Airports also issued a travel advisory to passengers heading to DXB during this period, encouraging everyone to keep travel documents ready to speed up clearance and also to use Smart Gates for children over the age of 12 years old.
