Dubai International Airport (DXB) handled 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025, marking a 2.3% increase compared to the same period last year, despite regional airspace closures caused by geopolitical tensions.

According to Dubai Airports, DXB saw an average monthly traffic of 7.7 million passengers during these six months, while daily volumes averaged 254,000 passengers. April, May and June alone saw 22.5 million passengers pass through DXB, an increase of 3.1% compared to the same period last year.

DXB is on track to handle 96 million travellers this year, according to the officials. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said, "As we enter the second half of the year, travel activity is expected to accelerate, beginning with the late-summer peak and leading into a winter season filled with high-profile events across entertainment, sport, and business. Based on our performance to date and a positive outlook, we expect the annual traffic to reach 96 million this year, bringing us closer to the symbolic 100 million milestone".

During the first half of this year, India remained DXB's largest country market with 5.9 million guests, followed by Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and the United States. London was the busiest city destination from DXB with 1.8 million guests, followed by Riyadh, Mumbai, Jeddah, New Delhi and Istanbul.
