Tourists visiting Dubai can now apply for an alcohol license to use during their visit at no cost.
The license will be valid for 30 days and will allow tourists to purchase alcohol from authorised stores including MMI and African + Eastern.
The license is not for all as it is only available to non-Muslims aged 21 years and over.
Tourists should take their passport to any of the liquor stores in the Emirate, where they will be asked to sign a form confirming they are a tourist and they understand the laws on purchasing, transporting and consuming alcohol in Dubai.
Staff will also take a copy of their passport, with entry stamp, and give a code of conduct that covers must-does like not drinking and driving and not displaying alcohol in public.
