Journeys in Dubai’s public transport network recorded a major rise in the first half of 2025, serving over 395 million passenger travels, a 9% increase from the same period in 2024. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reported an average of 2.18 million travels daily, driven mainly by metro and taxi usage.

Over this six-month period, Dubai Metro accounted for the largest share, with 143.9 million journeys, followed by taxis at 103.5 million and public buses at 95.7 million. May was the busiest month, with 68.8 million passenger journeys.

RTA officials credited the growth to improved connectivity, service quality, and ongoing investments in infrastructure, including the rollout of low-emission electric buses.

With expanded options and upcoming updates like Dubai Metro's Blue Line, public transport is fast becoming the smart choice for daily travel in the city.
