Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the successful completion of enhancements at 22 public bus stations across the city. The upgrades, which include 16 passenger stations and 6 bus depots, are part of RTA’s broader strategy to improve the efficiency and appeal of public transport in the emirate.
Among the renovated stations, nine are in Deira and seven in Bur Dubai. Together, these facilities support 110 bus routes and manage up to 710 buses during peak travel hours. Commuters can now expect improved waiting areas, upgraded facades and pavements, and newly added prayer spaces.
Meanwhile, six key depots, located in Al Khawaneej, Al Qusais, Al Ruwayah, Al Awir, Jebel Ali, and Al Quoz, have undergone transformations. Enhancements include upgraded inspection and maintenance lanes, engine washing systems, improved lighting and drainage, better driver accommodations, and more secure and efficient parking layouts.
Looking ahead, the RTA is preparing to add 637 new buses, including 40 fully electric, zero-emission buses, marking a regional first in eco-friendly transport aligned with international standards.
These upgrades mean better travel experiences, more reliable services, and a stronger push toward sustainability.
