The biggest indoor entertainment venue in the region, Coca-Cola Arena, is one of the most eagerly anticipated openings of the year. Set to open in June, Connector took a first look inside what is a very impressive venue for live music, entertainment and sporting events right here in Dubai.
The forces behind this huge arena, pegged as the biggest in the Middle East, are Dubai-based developer, Meraas, global soft drinks brand, Coca-Cola and international venue management company, AEG Ogden.
Once open, the arena will bring a notable change in Dubai’s entertainment landscape with its capacity to host events all year round, including the hottest months when hosting events outdoors is not an option. It means that summer in Dubai is not going to be an entertainment deprived time from this year on.
Guy Ngata of AEG Ogden and CEO of the Coca-Cola Arena said, “Coca-Cola Arena will be the newest world-class entertainment venue further affirming Dubai as a global events driven city in the ever growing global live experiential economy.”
Located at City Walk, the impressive arena is set to open its doors to the public with a live show by comedian Russell Peters on 6 June followed by US boy band, Maroon 5 on 14 June.
Spread across 3,870 square metres of area, the Coca-Cola Arena has the capacity to seat 17,000 people. Keeping accessibility as a prime focus, the area has been designed with multiple entry and exit points, including 28 wheelchair spaces and companion seats.
