The entertainment landscape in Dubai is set to get a major boost when the new multi-purpose Dubai Arena in City Walk opens its doors to the public.
Ahead of its opening, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai paid it a visit.
Pegged as the largest indoor arena of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, Dubai Arena is aligned with ‘Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020' that aims to attract 25 million tourists a year by 2025.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum says, “We will keep launching new iconic landmarks and projects, and will continue to cement our position as a global destination for tourism, events, trade and knowledge-based economy.”
Dubai Arena has the capacity to accommodate 17,000 visitors and host multiple events all year round.
Once open, the indoor arena will host end-stage, central and half-stage concerts, sporting events such as tennis, basketball, boxing, volleyball and ice hockey matches, gala dinners, exhibitions, conferences and festivals.
Making it easily accessible to the public, the destination is connected to Dubai Metro through a direct metro-link pedestrian bridge.
