The Burj Khalifa beamed with an image of the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, in praise of her unconditional support to the Muslim community after the Christchurch mosque attacks that killed 50 people. The picture displayed on the world’s tallest building had a one word caption ‘Peace’ as a symbol of solidarity.
In appreciation of the Prime Minister’s support, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared the image on his official Instagram page @hhshkmohd and said, “New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks' martyrs. Thank you PM @jacindaardern and New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world".
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also praised New Zealand’s communities for their solidarity with their Muslim neighbours against the attack.
