Abu Dhabi's Disney Theme Park To Debut Unique Castle Concept

Yas Island Abu Dhabi

Disney fans in the UAE have reason to celebrate as new details emerge about the much-anticipated Disney theme park in Abu Dhabi, expected to open on Yas Island sometime between 2030 and 2032. For the first time in Disney history, water will be incorporated into the design of the park’s central castle.

The reveal came in the latest episode of Disney’s 'We Call It Imagineering' series on YouTube, where Zach Riddley, Senior Vice President of Global Creative Strategy at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained the inspiration behind the unique design and said, “Abu Dhabi is a city on the water and so we’re really excited about being able to incorporate water for the first time in the design of one of our castles”.

While Disney has yet to disclose the castle’s theme, executives have promised it will be unlike any of their existing designs. This creative vision reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status as a global destination for family entertainment, complementing existing attractions on Yas Island such as Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World.

Once complete, Disney theme park in Abu Dhabi will become the world’s seventh Disney resort and the first in the Middle East, adding to the UAE’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class leisure and tourism.
