Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a new bridge near Dubai World Trade Centre as part of its ongoing road improvement project aimed at reducing traffic congestion in one of the city’s busiest areas.
The newly opened 500-metre bridge connects traffic from Al Bada’a towards 2nd December Street, with smoother access to Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mustaqbal Street.
According to the RTA, the bridge can handle around 1,200 vehicles per hour and is expected to reduce travel time in the area from around eight minutes to just two minutes.
The latest opening forms part of the wider World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project, which includes several bridges and upgraded road connections designed to improve traffic flow across central Dubai.
Officials say the project will support growing traffic demand around the Trade Centre district, especially during major exhibitions, conferences and events held throughout the year.
