Dubai based Emirates Airlines, has announced an update for the closure of first class check-in counters. As per the airline, the first class check-in counters at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 will remain shut until 1 October. The counters have been closed for refurbishments to make the passenger experience better.
Last month, the airline issued an advisory stating that the counters would remain shut for three weeks, but as per the update, check-in counters for passengers flying first class will be closed until 1 October. First class passengers are asked to use premium check-in counters instead. Emirates Skywards Gold members travelling in Economy Class are also requested to use the premium check-in counters in Area 6.
Emirates Airlines has recorded its busiest summer to date. As per the airline, it has carried over 14 million passengers with average seat load factors exceeding 80 per cent across its global network between June and August. From June to August, Emirates operated nearly 50,000 flights to and from 140 cities, carrying over 14 million passengers.
Even for the winter season, the airline expects another spike in demand for travel to Dubai as the emirate runs a packed calendar of global conferences, world-class sporting events and more.
