Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the construction of a new footbridge in Dubai.

The footbridge helps to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists crossing busy roads.

The bridge connects Al Khaleej Street between the intersection of Omar Bin Khattab Street and Abu Bakr Al Siddique Street, near Dubai Hospital, and is equipped with dedicated bike tracks.

Additionally, RTA also announced that six more footbridges are being constructed.

  • A 109-metre bridge will be constructed at Al Mina Street, between Al Saqr and Al Mina intersections.
  • A bridge on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street between Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, spanning 91 metres long will be built.
  • A 174 metres bridge at Ras Al Khor Road, will be built creating a link between the Creek Harbour and Ras Al Khor Industrial Area.
  • A bridge also on Ras Al Khor Road measuring 101 metres will be constructed across Marhaba Mall and Wasl Complex in Nadd Al Hamar.
  • On Al Manara Road in the Al Quoz Creative Zone, a 45-metre-long footbridge will be constructed.
  • A 248 metres footbridge will also be built on Al Khawaneej Street, opposite Arabian Centre.

With a total of 129 footbridges currently in Dubai, and more under construction, there will be 165 footbridges by 2026.
