The National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that a special government media briefing will be held.
The briefing will be held today (13 June) at 5.30pm and will update the public on COVID-19.
On Thursday 9 June, cases crossed 1,000 for the first time since the middle of February, and COVID-19 cases have been steadily rising for the past month since early May.
In the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced 1,249 new COVID-19 cases.
Additionally, MoHAP has reported that 977 people have recovered from COVID-19 and no further deaths were recorded.
