Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a smart digital platform, 'Data Drive–Clear Guide', to revolutionise how traffic is monitored and managed across the emirate.
The platform uses artificial intelligence to analyse five years of historical data alongside real-time traffic information. It instantly identifies congestion points, road speeds, smooth-flow periods and recurring traffic patterns. Authorities can now respond faster to road conditions, assess traffic performance over time and improve overall traffic flow.
Previously, traffic data was collected manually, taking weeks to compile and analyse. With the new system, reports and insights are generated within minutes with the help of an interactive map that displays real-time road conditions, enabling immediate action to manage congestion or adapt to unexpected changes.
The platform also supports event and road diversion monitoring, ensuring that disruptions are quickly addressed. Automated reports compare traffic performance before and after roadworks, helping evaluate project success.
