His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been elected President of the UAE in light of the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed is the third elected President of the United Arab Emirates and will continue to follow in his predecessor's footsteps.
Born on 11 March 1961 in Al Ain, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed was the third son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was the first President of the UAE and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
In November 2003, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed became the Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and following the passing of his father, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed was appointed the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in November 2004.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed was also appointed Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council in December 2004 and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces in January 2005.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed has helped make decisions for the betterment of the UAE and the capital and will continue to make the UAE great under his rule.
