National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that updated protocol for prayers in mosques to resume.
Ablution areas will be opened with one washbasin closed in between two washbasins and toilet paper provided.
Direct contact in mosques and ablution areas should be avoided.
Sanitation of ablution areas and restrooms must be done regularly after prayers, with a physical distance of 1.5 metres maintained between individuals.
All precautionary measures will be taken with the mosques closed after prayers and entry not allowed.
Mosques administration will provide cleaning staff at all times, with cleaning done after use of toilets and ablution areas.
Sanitisers will also be available at all the exits of ablution areas and sanitising is compulsory after using the ablution.
Instructions on the right way to use the ablution will be given.
Authorities will monitor if all the safety protocols are being followed and individuals are urged to work with authorities for smooth functioning.
Imams at mosques and cleaning staff need to be vaccinated and get a PCR test done every 14 days.
The results should be linked to the Al Hosn App and individuals showing any symptoms must disclose and avoid coming to the mosque.
