Emirates has announced that passengers travelling from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda do not need to carry a vaccination certificate to travel to Dubai.
To travel, passengers need to have a valid UAE visa, a pre-entry approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA), a negative PCR test taken 48 hours before the flight and a rapid 4-hour test taken before departure from a certified lab with a QR code.
A PCR test will also be done on arrival in Dubai.
For travel to the other Emirates in the UAE, vaccination certificates from passengers that have received their vaccinations abroad can be registered on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website or on the ICA UAE smart app.
Only vaccines approved in the UAE which includes Oxford-AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Sputnik V, received abroad will be approved.
Once approved, the individual can access the vaccination certificate via the Al Hosn App.
Registering vaccinations is optional although individuals that have been vaccinated and approved can avail the benefits for vaccinated individuals in the UAE.
The registration process will include filling out personal information, passport details, residency address in the UAE and uploading vaccine details and attaching proof.
Individuals can start registering from 15 August.
