National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that UAE residents from six countries where flights are suspended can now travel to the UAE.
UAE residents from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda can now travel.
Individuals need to hold a valid UAE visa and should have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.
Additionally, 14 days should have passed since the receiving the second dose of the vaccine to travel.
A valid vaccination certificate must also be obtained.
Individuals that are a part of the health sector including doctors, nurses and technicians, work in the education sector and teach at universities, colleges, schools and institutes, students, humanitarian cases with valid residency, individuals going through medical treatments in the UAE and federal and local government agencies and exempt and can travel, whether unvaccinated or vaccinated.
To travel, individuals need to submit a request on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website in order to obtain the necessary approvals.
The excluded groups need to submit a PCR test within 48 hours from departure by an accredited laboratory with a QR Code.
A rapid test will also be conducted before boarding the flight.
The change will take effect from 5 August.
