The 15th edition of the Al Dhafra Festival will be held from 28 October 2021 to 22 January 2022.
The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The festival aims at preserving and promoting UAE cultural heritage among future generations.
A new race for camels will be held in two categories, hybrid and Wadh. A milking competition will also be held along with the other 27 races for falconry, Arabian horses and more.
The festival will now also include camel beauty contests with Dhs 110 million of prize money distributed and the launch of the Bairaq Al Emarat Award for Asayel and Majahim camel breeds with prize money of Dhs 6 million.
Over 13,000 camels will be a part of the festival.
The Sweihan competition will take place from 28 October to 3 November 2021, the Razeen competition will be held from 25 November to 1 December 2021 with the Madinat Zayed competition held from 23 December to 29 December 2021 and the Al Dhafra Festival competition will be held from 13 January to 22 January 2022.
To ensure the safety of all, individuals must be vaccinated and also have a negative PCR test result on the Al Hosn App. Face masks, social distancing, temperature checks and sanitisation throughout the day will be done.
