The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has announced new travel protocols for flights from India, Nigeria and South Africa to Dubai.
The changes will come into effect on 23 June.
India
For travel from India to Dubai, individuals with a valid resident visa and who have received both doses of a UAE-approved vaccine will be able to travel.
A negative PCR test certificate must be taken 48 hours before departure. Only QR-coded PCR tests will be accepted. UAE nationals are exempt from the test.
Passengers will also need to take a rapid PCR test four hours before departure to Dubai as well as another PCR test on arrival in Dubai.
Institutional quarantine for travellers is mandatory until the negative PCR test result is received within 24 hours. UAE citizens and diplomats are exempt from institutional quarantine.
Nigeria
For travel from Nigeria, passengers need to take a negative PCR test 48 hours before departure. UAE citizens are exempt from the test.
The PCR test certificate must be done by a lab approved by the Nigerian Government and must have a QR code.
On arrival in Dubai, passengers need to get another PCR test done. Transit passengers must comply with entry protocols of final destinations.
South Africa
For travel from South Africa to Dubai, individuals that have received both doses of a UAE-approved vaccine can enter Dubai.
A negative PCR test must be presented by passengers, taken 48 hours before flight departure. UAE nationals are exempt from the test.
Another PCR test will be taken on arrival in Dubai. Transit passengers must comply with entry protocols of final destinations.
