First Picture Of Mars From The Hope Probe

On 9 February the Hope Probe made history as it entered the Mars Orbit and finally the world gets its much waited first glimpse of Mars transmitted form the historic mission.

In the picture, the largest volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons, can be seen emerging during early morning sunlight.

Tharsis Montes, the three large shield volcanoes which consist of Ascraeus Mons, Pavonis Mons, and Arisia Mons can also be seen.

The Hope Probe will get the first-ever planet-wide picture of Mars atmospheric dynamics and daily weather for a full Martian year, which is 687 earth days and will conclude April 2023. 

However, the Hope Probe can be used for another two years for additional data collection.
