Dubai Police have urged motorists to check their vehicles for any type of mechanical failures before heading out on the road.
Colonel Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said: “Drivers should check the vehicle condition before sitting behind the wheel to avoid breakdowns in middle of the road as it causes traffic accidents.”
Many sudden vehicle breakdowns have occurred on the roads as drivers had failed to check their cars for tyre health or mechanical failures.
“Police patrols always step in to help and provide assistance to drivers to secure the roads, move the cars away and make sure the lives of other road users are protected,” added Colonel Bin Suwaidan.
Some of the most common causes of breakdowns are damaged tyres, faulty battery, alarms and electrical problems.
Dubai Police have also urged drivers to take caution and follow the traffic rules as multiple accidents were reported in Dubai and Sharjah on Thursday morning.
