UAE Ensures Smooth Airport Operations Amid Regional Conflict

In response to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel that have disrupted regional air travel, the UAE activated a nationwide emergency airport operations plan. The move, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), ensures the uninterrupted movement of passengers and maintains high service standards despite airspace closures in nearby countries.

For UAE residents and families currently travelling or planning to return from abroad, this initiative provides assurance of safety and support amid a rapidly evolving situation. It also highlights the country’s preparedness in handling international emergencies that impact air traffic.

The ICP confirmed that it launched its emergency plan immediately after the crisis began, with key focus areas including passenger safety, efficient border processing, and continuous coordination with UAE-based airlines and other stakeholders. Field teams have been reinforced across all UAE airports to manage increased demands and support affected travellers.

To help those stranded or delayed by international flight changes, the UAE has deployed specialised airport support teams. These teams are offering temporary accommodation, logistical aid, and on-ground guidance, while also assisting with flight rescheduling in close cooperation with carriers.
