The UAE has announced that the National Disinfection Programme that began at the start of the weekend is to be extended by another week. Since Thursday evening, teams across the country have been sterilising the nations public spaces and public transport systems to contain the spread of coronavirus COVID-19. The programme has been taking place nightly from 8pm until 6am the following morning.
The initial schedule was for the programme to run on Thursday 26 March, Friday 27 March and Saturday 28 March, however an updated announcement has said the programme will now run between 8pm and 6am each day until Sunday 5 April.
The nationwide curfew during the duration of the programme will also remain be in place.
