What To Watch: September 2022

We can all agree that choosing what to watch can be a difficult choice to make.

With endless scrolling and loads of disagreeing, picking a show or a movie to watch with so many genres available is a tedious task.

To help make the process all the easier, here are some of the highly anticipated releases for the month, whether you are watching at home or going to the cinema.

Netflix:

Cobra Kai: Season 5 - 9 September

The viral spinoff from The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai is back for its 5th season. The new season will follow John Kreese after he is betrayed by his former partner with new alliances also forming.

Do Revenge - 16 September

Starring Maya Hawke, Camila Mendes and Austin Abrams, the dark comedy is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train. The movie follows Drea and Eleanor that on meeting one other, decide to go after each other's enemies.

Fate: The Winx Saga: Season 2 - 16 September

The second season of Fate: The Winx Saga will follow the fairies as they adjust to the new changes at Alfea under the new headmistress's rule. As they face new threats, Bloom and her friends will have to team up while also facing challenges, friendship and love.

My Little Pony: Make Your Mark - 26 September

My Little Pony: Mark your Mark is back again with a new television show. Based on the events of the movie, the decades-long franchise continues and now follows Sunny Starscout and her friends as they face new challenges.

Disney+:

Cars on the Road - 8 September

Lightning McQueen and his friend, Mater are back in this all-new television show on Disney+. The show follows along as the two friends go on a journey from Radiator Springs to meet up with Mater's sister.

Star Wars: Andor - 12 September

A new addition to the Star Wars series, the television show will explore the galaxy even further. The story follows along Cassian Andor across the planets as the rebellion continues against the Empire as well as his journey to becoming a rebel hero. 

Hocus Pocus 2 - 30 September

25 years later after the initial release of the iconic movie, Hocus Pocus 2 is back this September for another Halloween special movie. The movie revolves around the three Sanderson sisters as they explore modern-day Salem and wreak their havoc once more.

Amazon Prime:

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - 2 September 

Set years before the events from J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, get a glimpse into the legends of the Second Age of Middle Earth's history. Watch as great powers were formed, kingdoms rose and fell and heroes were tested.

Goodnight Mommy - 16 September

Goodnight Mommy follows as twin brothers reach their mother's country home and see her covered in bandages. Although she says it is due to cosmetic surgery, her behaviour towards them starts changing, leading them to think that she may not be their mother after all.

GOING OUT

Cinemas:

Stowaway - 1 September

Watch the thriller film, Stowaway, starring Frank Grillo, Ruby Rose and Patrick Schwarzenegger. The story follows a woman who is street smart and has to fight for her survival against three thieves as they try to take over the yacht she inherits from her father.

Brahmastra - 9 September

The highly awaited movie Brahmastra - Part One: Shiva will be released this September. The movie is set in present-day India, where a secret society protects divine weapons made in ancient India from the world. Part one explores a man who falls in love and has to deal with powers he does not understand. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor and will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Don't Worry Darling - 22 September

Don't Worry Darling boasts a star-studded actor lineup with Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, Chris Pine, Florence Pugh, Harry Styles and Kiki Layne. The movie is set in the 1950s where a housewife living in a utopian experimental community with her husband begins to worry that his company may be hiding secrets.
