His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has marked 20 years at the helm since his appointment in September 2006.
Over the two-decade milestone, Dubai's gross domestic product (GDP) doubled to Dhs 937 billion, while government expenditure totalled Dhs 1.2 trillion across key infrastructure and social sectors. Official government data highlights key public metrics achieved under his leadership, including a 95% customer happiness rating across Dubai Government entities, a healthy life expectancy of 80.75 years, and 55.7 million square metres of green spaces developed across the emirate.
In the real estate and trade sectors, non-oil foreign trade surpassed Dhs 3 trillion, while annual property transactions reached Dhs 917 billion in 2025. The emirate has also expanded its transport infrastructure to 25,974 lane-kilometres.
The strategic direction driven by The Executive Council continues to focus on enhancing daily living standards, economic growth, and safety for Dubai residents under the overarching vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
