GDRFA Dubai Launches Mobile 'Click & Travel' Passport Service At Airports

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) has launched "Click & Travel", a mobile passport control service designed to process airline passengers directly at their locations inside Dubai airports.

The service uses handheld mobile devices integrated with GDRFA databases and biometric technology, allowing officers to verify traveller identities and complete clearance in roughly 12 to 15 seconds. Between the start of pilot operations in May 2026 and 31 August 2026, the system successfully processed 31,373 transactions.

The system is deployed during peak travel hours and operational bottlenecks to speed up passenger movement. On departure, "Click & Travel" is available to all passengers, including UAE citizens, residents, and tourists. For arrivals, the initial phase caters to UAE citizens and residents, with plans to expand access to all travellers in subsequent phases.

By bringing immigration procedures directly to waiting passengers rather than requiring them to line up at traditional counters, GDRFA Dubai aims to reduce waiting times and streamline operations across the emirate's airport terminals.
