Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) has confirmed that international actor Mackenyu will headline its upcoming pop culture festival. Best known for his portrayal of Roronoa Zoro in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, the actor will attend the three-day event for exclusive meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, and live panel discussions.
Taking place from 11 to 13 September 2026 at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, the MEFCC floor will encompass 12 distinct entertainment zones. Visitors can explore the specialised Otaku District, enter the dedicated Gaming Arena, browse independent creations in Artist Alley, or participate in the official MEFCC Cosplay Competition.
UAE comic enthusiasts will also have access to the Comic Creators Club. Highly acclaimed artists Jim Cheung, Frederico Vicentini, and Brett Breeding, famed for their work on The Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, and The Death of Superman, are confirmed to host live drawing demonstrations and interactive workshops.
Standard admission tickets are now available online via the official festival platform starting from Dhs 160.
Additional celebrity guests, anime voice actors, and entertainment features will be announced over the coming weeks.
