Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Floating Bridge, going in both directions, will be closed for maintenance works.
The closure has already taken effect and will remain closed for five weeks from Monday, 17 April.
Drivers that use the Floating Bridge during their commute can now take alternative routes to reach their destinations.
For Sharjah traffic:
People travelling through Al Ittihad Street can use the Al Mamzar Exit, which was previously only reserved for buses and taxis, and can then use the Infinity Bridge via Cairo Street and Al Khaleej Street, use the Al Garhoud Bridge or the Al Maktoum Bridge.
For Bur Dubai to Deira traffic:
Traffic passing via the Khalid bin Al Waleed Street can utilise the Al Maktoum Bridge or the Infinity Bridge.
The Al Maktoum Bridge can also be used for drivers travelling via Umm Hurair Road.
Drivers can opt for alternative routes via the Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, Infinity Bridge and Business Bay Crossing, when using Sheikh Zayed Road.
Traffic passing via the Oud Metha Road can use the Al Maktoum Bridge or the Al Garhoud Bridge.
The Al Maktoum Bridge can also be used for traffic passing from Al Riyadh Street.
Additionally, drivers can use the main roads, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.
For Deira to Bur Dubai traffic:
The Infinity Bridge can also be used as an alternative route for travellers passing from Al Khaleej Street.
