Three UAE schools have made it to the global spotlight after being named finalists in this year's World’s Best School Prizes, an international competition celebrating schools that are creating lasting impact in education and beyond.

The awards, launched in 2022 by T4 Education, aim to share the best practices of schools that are transforming lives not just inside the classroom but throughout their communities.

The shortlisted schools are Dubai British School Jumeirah Park (DBSJP), Arbor School in Al Furjan, and Applied Technology Schools Umm Al Quwain Campus (ATS-UAQ). Each school was shortlisted in a different category including Community Collaboration, Environmental Education, and Innovation, respectively.

DBSJP was recognised for its community-driven learning model, which integrates families and community members into student development. Judges praised the school’s approach of crafting personalised learning pathways for every child.

Arbor School earned its Environmental Education nomination for embedding eco-literacy across its curriculum and creating practical learning spaces. Students at Arbor School led initiatives in sustainability, waste reduction, and marine restoration, including the Dubai Oyster Project.

ATS-UAQ was recognised for its career-focused, project-based approach to learning, preparing students with hands-on skills relevant to real-world industries, especially in science and technology.

The winners will be announced in October, and finalists, including the UAE’s three schools, will take part in the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi on 15 and 16 November, sharing ideas with global educators.

These nominations spotlight the UAE’s growing reputation for educational excellence, innovation, and forward-thinking teaching strategies.
