His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has pardoned 1,530 prisoners in celebration of UAE's 51st National Day.
Serving time for various offences, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed also settled the financial obligations of the prisoners released.
Additionally, 1,040 inmates were released by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The release aims to give the prisoners another chance to start afresh and help reintegrate them into society.
