Keshur Kara Chavada Karu Ghela, an Indian national, helped prevent a Dhs 2.7 million robbery.
In an effort to stop the thief, Keshur tackled and pinned the robber till the Dubai Police arrived.
The incident occurred when two Asian men were carrying two containing Dhs 4,250,000 in cash of different currencies.
His Excellency Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs said, "As the two Asian men shouted for help, Mr Keshur saw the robber running with the stolen bag toward him, so he bravely tackled him, started wrestling with him, and pinned him to the ground until the police patrols arrived and made the arrest."
To honour Keshur, the Dubai Police visited his workplace and presented him with a medal of honour, for his genuine commitment to the community and his wit in dealing with emergencies.
