During the first half of 2022, Dubai Taxis has achieved a 27% increase in growth rate, in comparison to 2021.
Since pre-pandemic in 2019, the sector has recovered immensely by 101% this year, achieving the highest rate in six years.
An increase in demand was seen for taxis, e-hail rides and hourly car rentals.
Hala Taxis has also increased by 157% during the first half of 2022 in comparison to 2021, with e-hail services recovering by 92%.
Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency at RTA said, “The e-hail journeys have also surged by 74% during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. The hourly car rental has also recovered by 56% with journeys recording a 6% increase during the first six months of 2022 compared with the same period in 2021.”
