Dubai Can have seen a reduction of 3.5 million 500ml single-use plastic bottles since its launch.
Launched in February, the initiative encouraged the public to refill reusable bottles at the water fountains placed around the city.
In the last six months, 46 fountains have been installed around Dubai including Kite Beach, Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown Dubai and more.
Through the initiative, people have instead opted for refillable bottles, using dispensers around the city, at their homes, offices and hotels to refill.
