Alexey Mohchanov, the free diving champion, broke all records at Deep Dive Dubai.
With one single breath, Alexey dove to the pool's depths at 60 metres and returned to the surface within 57 seconds.
To accomplish the feat, Alexey used a breathing technique called 'lung packing', which allows him to inflate his lungs with around two gallons of air to stay underwater for a minute and is achieved with years of practice.
Additionally, to plunge to the depths of the pool, experienced divers have to reduce their heart rate by more than 50% and the body undergoes a state of peripheral vasoconstriction, where blood is only pumped to the vital organs.
