Over 304.6 million passenger journeys through various modes of public transport took place during the first half of 2022, as announced by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
In 2021, 202 million passenger journeys were noticed during the first half of the year, showing a spike in the use of public transport.
The daily average rate of people using public transport reached about 1.68 million in the first half of 2022, compared to about 1.1 million in the first half of 2021.
Dubai Metro saw 109.1 million passenger journeys on both Red and Green Lines, with Burjuman and Union stations accounting for the biggest share of riders.
Additionally, Dubai Tram saw 3.6 million passenger journeys, public buses 78.6 million passenger journeys and marine transport services including abras, water bus, water taxi, and ferry saw 8.2 million passenger journeys, during the first half of 2022.
Taxis transported 88.7 million passenger journeys and shared mobility services like e-hailing, smart rental vehicles, and Bus-On-Demand saw 16.4 million passenger journeys use their services.
