Chess Day Competition To Be Held At Times Square Center

Times Square Center is set to host The International Chess Day Competition for the second time.

The event will be held on 20 July from 12pm to 10pm at Times Square Center.

The competition will have four types of play, including bullet chess, simul, junior blitz and open blitz and will offer a fun edutainment event for children.

Held in collaboration with the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, the event aims to promote chess among children, as it helps to improve and develop their cognitive skills in logical and critical thinking, problem-solving, visual processing and sportsmanship.

Saeed Yousuf Shakari, Secretary General of Dubai Chess and Culture Club said, “It is an honour to host this event for the second time catering to both chess and non-chess enthusiasts of Dubai. This will be a momentous day as it will be our first ever event post the pandemic.”
