The Dubai Can initiative has contributed to reducing the use of over 1 million 500ml plastic bottles in Dubai.
The sustainability initiative encourages residents to use reusable bottles instead of plastic bottles.
The campaign was launched in February by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Coinciding with World Oceans Day, the initiative continues to encourage communities, businesses, residents and visitors to fill their bottles at the public water stations rather than opting for a plastic bottles.
