The first day of Shawwal will be on Monday 1 May.
It has been announced that Ramadan will last 30 days and confirmed that Sunday 1 May is the last day of Ramadan, and Monday 2 May will be the first day of Shawwal, marking the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE.
It has been already been confirmed that the public sector and schools will have a full week holiday returning on Monday 9 May, and the private sector will have a holiday up to 3 Shawwal, which means that work resumes for the privater sector on Thursday 5 May.
