The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced the safety protocols for Eid Al Fitr.
The prayer and Khutba should not exceed 20 minutes and will be supervised by police, volunteers and imams to avoid overcrowding.
Individuals should use their own personal mats or disposable mats during prayers.
Physical distance of one metre must be maintained as well as face masks worn at all times.
Gates of the mosque should be opened after the prayer at dawn for Eid, with external speakers broadcasting the Eid takbeers half an hour before the prayer.
Individuals should avoid gatherings and shaking hands after prayers.
Physical distancing stickers must be placed outside mosques as well as in parking lots near the mosque and parks.
Eid presents should be given electronically and celebrations should be limited to close family and relatives.
