Ithra Dubai has announced the opening of the Dubai Gold Souk Extension.
Trade-in gold in Dubai is the second most lucrative export with 20% of the total non-oil exports coming from gold.
The extension offers visitors a great shopping experience and highlights Dubai's standing as the City of Gold.
The Gold Souk has been one of the longest-standing establishments in Dubai and with the change in policy in the 1940s, saw an increase in the number of gold shops by the Dubai Creek.
When fully occupied, the extension will have 295 shops.
Over 40 to 50 tons of gold is always available on the market and features over 10 million designs at any given point in time.
The Gold Souk Extension is a part of the Deira Enrichment Project and has a similar experience to the original souk, while also offering shaded walkways, workshops, co-working spaces, covered parking, restaurants, a waterfront promenade and a range of hotels.
