Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a loyalty programme for bus and taxi drivers.
The programme will offer the best 200 drivers each quarter discounts from certain retail outlets and companies.
The points will be given in two levels, with level one earning 10,000 points and handed out to the top 20 bus drivers and top 80 taxi drivers.
Level two will be given to 80 taxi drivers and 20 bus drivers with each earning 5,000 loyalty points.
The loyalty points will then be transformed into purchasing balances on loyalty cards.
The programme will launch in four phases with the first phase including the distribution of 30,000 NOL Plus cards to drivers and will host workshops on activating and registering cards at the RTA’s Gateway.
The selection of the top drivers will be done based on the assessment of the taxi driver's conduct system as well as the smart inspection system.
By 2023, the loyalty programme will also be offered to limo chauffeurs, rented coach drivers and school bus drivers.
