The Emirates Literature Foundation has announced its education programme and also that tickets are now available for purchase.
Emirates LitFest Students Edition will offer a lineup of virtual sessions, available for schools from 10 February to 10 March.
To make the sessions more accessible to everyone, the school will have to pay a fee and not the students.
Students can also send in their queries and questions ahead of time for authors to answer.
Schools will be offered with either five English sessions, five Arabic sessions or sessions in both languages, with the sessions displayed as many times as required during the month.
The English sessions will feature authors, Polly Dunbar, Layne Redman, Erin Entrada Kelly, Nayanika Mahtani and Carlos Andres Gomez and the Arabic sessions will include authors, Julnar Haju, Nadia Al Najjar, Ali Ashoor, Sahar Naja Mahfouz and Hadil Ghoneim.
The authors will host a session for a specific age group.
Students can also participate in activities including the Emirates NBD Poetry For All, RGS Guildford Dubai Children’s Letter Writing, Chevron Readers Cup and the story writing competitions.
The winners of the competition will be celebrated at the festival along with the School Librarian of the Year for 2022 crowned at a special awards ceremony.
Ahlam Bolooki, Festival Director said, "We are always looking at how we can make our festival and our education programme more inclusive and more accessible. While it was the pandemic that made us pivot to a virtual programme, the feedback we received this year from schools was amazing. By removing the travel time and the need for individual tickets for each student, we reached an even greater number of students, including those distance learning. We are thrilled with the line-up of authors for this year’s Emirates LitFest Student Edition, and I am confident that they will inspire young people across the country."
