Etihad Airways has announced that cats and dogs can be brought with passengers onboard when travelling.
All official documents for the pet must be given at check-in.
Pets are only allowed if they do not show disruptive behaviour including, growling, biting, jumping or causing damage to the cabin.
For economy flights that are six hours and below, the passengers will need to pay Dhs 550 per pet and Dhs 920 for a flight over six hours.
When transiting, the combined price per flight will apply.
The pet must be at least 16 weeks old and must weigh less than 8kg, including the carrier.
If a passenger with an allergy and a passenger with a pet is travelling on the same flight, the request of the first person that made the reservation will be considered.
Passengers will also have to register for a carriage in the cabin, 72 hours before the flight and need to receive a confirmation on the pet's acceptance.
